The Blundstone #994 work and safety boots are packed with safety features including:
1. Water-resistant Upper
Premium leather is treated to provide extra water-resistant properties. Footwear with this symbol is particularly suitable for muddy conditions.
2. Rubber outsole - 572°F heat resistant
The outsole is heat resistant to temperatures up to at least 572°F. The soling material has a very high insulating value and can be expected to provide short term resistance to melting and cracks in temperatures in the highest ranges that are normally encountered in an industrial environment.
3. Metatarsal Protection
Metatarsal guards provide protection for the top of the foot against a common traumatic foot injury - fractures of the metatarsal bones. A moulded guard of XRD® Extreme Impact Protection material provides flexibility and absorbs up to 90% of extreme impacts, time after time.
4. Penetration resistant insole
Provides maximum resistance against perforation of the sole by nails and other sharp objects. Our leather boots with this feature have a composite penetration insole.
5. Electrical hazard resistant
Certified to ASTM F2413-18. Clause 5.6 for electrical shock hazard resistance. Where there is a risk that a person may come in contact with a live electrical circuit, electrical shock hazard footwear will provide the best possible protection against electrical shock hazard.
6. Steel toe cap
Broad fitting 200 Joule impact resistant Type 1 steel toe cap. Steel is the safest toe cap material available, providing the highest levels of resistance in constructed footwear against rolling side compression and cut resistance.

CARE DETAILS
- First, remove any caked dirt on your boots with a soft bristled brush or
damp cloth, and leave your boots to air dry. Please ensure that your boots
are away from direct sunlight or any heaters, as they will dry out the
leather.
- Apply leather polish, spray or cream to the leather to help maintain your
boots. If you are using a polish for the first time, try it on an inconspicuous
area of the boot to check whether it alters the colour or appearance.
- If using a polish, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a polishing
cloth or brush and rub onto the shoe in circular motions.
The insoles really help with fatigue and leg pain for working long hours. I do foundry work and I managed to step in a puddle of molten aluminum. The soles were fine; they even left boot prints in the aluminum. 10/10!
Excellent fit and foot protection on construction sites as well as family farm. These boots show up. Great durability and comfort for long days on your feet.
Very comfortable and durable. Working in a steel mill standing or laying on burning hot equipment, the soles have yet to fail on any pair and the tops last me about 2 years (compared to most of my coworkers buying a new pair of boots every 6 months). The only exception is that the small vertical seam on the inside tends to rip. I have to RTV it closed after about 3-6 months for every pair I've had. It could be a fit thing
I think they are a beautiful set of boots. However, the tongue of the left boot is sewn in such a way that it is canted to the left, and twists some of the boot in a mildly uncomfortable fashion when righted and tied. Otherwise, and absolutely stellar pair of boots!
